The Department of Pediatrics in Queen's Health Sciences invites applications to fill 2 new full time (GFT) General Pediatrics positions to join the existing 7 members in the Division of Acute Care and General Pediatrics. The current group of physicians work together to provide a breadth of specialty pediatric care for children and youth in Kingston and the surrounding region, providing the majority of the coverage for the Pediatric Urgent Care Centre (runs 5 days a week; approximately 8000 visits/year), conducting consultative pediatric clinics, are the MRP for the 17 bed pediatric inpatient unit (which includes 6 level 2 PICU beds), along with providing overnight call for the general inpatient ward and level 2 PICU unit.

Ideally, 1 candidate with pediatric critical care experience/training would join the hospitalist team with primarily inpatient duties and 1 candidate would focus more on ambulatory care both in the pediatric urgent care setting and consulting pediatric visits. Additional desirable qualifications/skills could include: POCUS, critical care skills, hospital care, emergency medicine/acute care or child maltreatment. The specific mix of clinical duties will be determined based on the successful candidates.

The successful applicants will provide clinical teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants should provide evidence of an ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment.

Qualified applicants will hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed postgraduate qualifications in general Pediatrics prior to appointment, and have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
