Located within the heart of Ottawa, The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the University of Ottawa are pediatric health and research centres that provide outstanding family-centered patient care, pioneering breakthrough research, and train the health care professionals of tomorrow. The Department of Pediatrics is a dynamic department serving a large geographical area with a population base of 1.8 million. In addition, with the proximity to Quebec and the availability of bilingual services, children from Western Quebec are referred and treated at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Our pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Division is designated as the tertiary referral centre for all children with acute and chronic gastrointestinal and liver disorders from Eastern Ontario, including procedural and endoscopic services. The Division is actively recruiting a well-trained individual, at the Assistant Professor academic rank, who has completed training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. The candidate must also have completed advanced fellowship training (additional 1-2 years beyond residency in pediatric gastroenterology) with a particular focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease, post liver transplantation care and advanced endoscopy, have acquired research skills and have a commitment to scholarship and academic advancement. This position will be approximately 60% clinical and 40% academic. This faculty member will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, patients and families in our Division and will join the 5 academic gastroenterologists already in place. The candidate will be Royal College of Physician and Surgeons (Pediatrics) certified/eligible or equivalent. Fluency in both English and French would be an advantage.
