UBC Department of Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatrics, BC Children’s Hospital. The successful applicant is expected to
establish strong clinical and administrative linkages with all six Health Authorities in British Columbia. As a recognized clinical and academic leader in Pediatrics, you will have the opportunity to share your vision and utilize your
leadership skills in the development of teaching, research and clinical service programs in a Department with 153 site-based faculty (15 PhD scientists and 138 academic clinicians) and 119 community based clinical faculty. In this challenging role, you will be accountable for the leadership and administration of the Department and for overseeing
the quality of pediatric medical care. Your ability to be innovative and foster collaboration will be key in promoting pediatric
academic excellence and partnerships in undergraduate, graduate and post graduate medical education programs and support
for research across British Columbia.
The successful candidate will bring to this vital position a proven track record of success in senior clinical, academic and
administrative leadership roles, demonstrated success in supporting the career development of MD and PhD faculty members
and a proven record of scholarly achievement with demonstrated excellence in teaching. The anticipated start date will be July
1, 2010 or upon a date to be mutually agreed. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will qualify for and be offered a full time appointment at the rank of Professor with Tenure.

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba and the Child Health Program, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority are seeking three physicians to work as Medical Officers in Paediatrics at Children’s Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The Children’s Hospital serves the residents of Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, and southeastern Saskatchewan, a catchment area of over 1.5 million people. The hospital offers a unique experience to serve remote, rural and urban residents of this region.
Duties will include providing care to patients, under the supervision of an attending physician, admitted to either a paediatric oncology service or a general paediatric medicine teaching unit. Clinical duties in PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care) under the supervision of the paediatric intensivist may also be required.

Locum Help needed in Pediatric Gastroenterology & Pediatric Endocrinology -

Dear Colleagues,
Our Department has 3 GFT vacancies in the Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology with no full
time pediatric gastroenterologist currently on staff and our Section of Pediatric Endocrinology
and Metabolism has now only 2 fulltime pediatric endocrinologists. Our waiting lists for Pediatric
Endocrinology consultation has now reached 10 months. We are actively recruiting to both
areas!
I am asking for your help in identifying any Department member in either of these Sections who
might be willing to come to Winnipeg to do a locum placement. Kindly share this request with
your Section (Division) Heads and please let me know if any body can help out. Please note that
we will cover all expenses including airfare, licensure and CMPA as needed in addition to clinical
stipends. Many thanks for any help you can provide.
